Charlotte...

does not love her rice cereal.  There weren't histrionics, but the faces!  I'm not sure if any of it actually went *into* her, or if it all ended up in the spit cloth, but it doesn't really matter.  This is all about practice.

What she doesn't know is that I'm MUCH more stubborn than she is.

Ah yes, the faces they can make at that age. Keep the camera handy to record them for posterity.

It's always good to have a variety of embarrassing baby photos.

Yep. I've not had to use the ones I have of Zeph yet. But I've threatened to. :D

Ah, yes, rice cereal. It's just training wheels for the good stuff. Once she's kind of got the idea, go for apple sauce.

The pediatrician's comment was that at this point it's just practice at the idea that there are different ways to eat. She's been fixating on what everyone else is eating, so we'll keep working on the concept.

The mess factor sounds greater with applesauce - she'll like that.

Well...yeah. Have you ever tried it yourself? It's plain and oogy...

Are you mixing it with water or breastmilk?

I'll grant you plain, but didn't seem terribly oogy to me.

We're mixing it with breastmilk, and very runny to start. Basically, it's her usual dinner only slightly thicker and on a spoon.

Wow that just made me flash on V's cereal experiences.
Here's hoping you're better at evading flailing hands than I was... I wore a lot of cereal some days.

No flailing - just a lot of unhappy faces.
