Pet peeve

Populace.  P O P U L A C E.  Not "populous."

They're very different words, people.  And not particularly difficult ones either.

I see it *all* the time. Hence the "pet" in my peeve. Drives me nuts. Grrrrrr.

Well, I have a million word peeves, so I can't say anything :) But let's not even touch the word 'literally', or I might LITERALLY...get rather angry.

I do also, and the worst part is that I know that MY grammar is fairly awful.

Yeah, "literally" is another good one.

"Martial" and "Marshal" as well...

As a poultice on this wound, however, I offer a bumper sticker I've seen: "What are you, stupit?"

Yeah, that's another one. Although I don't seem to see it quite as often - at least not recently.

Maybe I need that t-shirt: "Silently correcting your grammar."

The English language died when the "apostrophe-s('s)" became accepted usage to create a plural noun.
