Bake for 15 minutes.
For extraction, picking them up with the barbeque tongs, holding in a paper towel, and giving a push with the thumb works great.
Seriously - go scant with the cookie dough. I know - it looks wrong, but just a skim along the mold surface is fine.
For two pounds of butter, 1/2 a batch of royal icing for the glue is good.
Don't bother with the piping tip - just cut the corner off a quart zip-lock. It works much better.
Hmm... I wonder if it's possible to countersink the rings *into* one side of the cookie while they're still hot. Maybe push them in while it's still in the mold, and then pop the whole thing out. That would be SO much easier if it works.
The ring subtlety is done for Yule - it's been done for a couple of days, so, yay me. Today I'm going to hit the grocery store for the ingredients for the boar's head, pick up chocolate coins for First Foot, and go to the dollar store for some shower curtains to separate the changing areas.
First though - breakfast.
