My Life in Hell

The toddler is completely broken - I WANT MY DADDY.  Bob's decision to go to archery practice tonight instead of picking her up and coming home was very Indiana Jones.  He chose... poorly.

Said toddler has had a wicked bad cold since last Friday.  Apparently it's become an ear infection - it looks like she's got discharge from the ear that she says hurts.  Which means that the eardrum has ruptured.  From past experience, I know how horrifically painful that is - and there's not a damn thing I can do about it.  Unless it's the most God's awful encrustation of ear wax I've ever seen.  I'll call the pediatrician as soon as they open in the morning.

The cat has progressed from peeing on the bathroom rug, to peeing and shitting on a duffel bag in the hall, to peeing on my bed, to shitting on the rug in front of the couch.  Yesterday I thoroughly scrubbed the litterbox and brought it upstairs, while setting up an extra in the basement.  This morning, both boxes were pristine.  This afternoon, both boxes were pristine.  Someone, however, had peed on the loveseat.  I'm done with this.  Starting tonight, they're each getting locked in a bathroom with a litter box, a bowl of water, a bowl of food, and a towel to sleep on.  No one comes out until box training is re-established.  I am DONE.

It's just one damn thing after another.

So I don't have an eardrum issue (thank goodness!) but Sammy has been refusing to use the litter box for about 8 months. Luckily, she is only using the basement floor, However, I recently put a disposable litter box (now replaced by a new real one) in the down stairs bathroom and it is working like a charm...unless she decides that I haven't cleaned it in the last 15 minutes, at which point she pees on the floor NEXT to it. She is 19 and cranky, so I forgive a lot, but really. Your two just need a swift womp up side the head. As if your life doesn't have enough drama in it! Good luck.

Oh no! Well, I can certainly sympathize. Nishka is 15, but I'm not taking that as an excuse - she had this all down a couple of months ago.

You hit the nail on the head about the drama. I just need something to resolve...
