A little discouraged

I have called my doctor on schedule, and told her voicemail that not only is the Symbicort not helping, the cough is getting noticably worse again - noticed by people other than me.  It's getting deeper, harder, and wetter again.  So now I wait for her to call me back (she's very good about that,) and we decide what the next step is.  Possibly an ENT, possibly a pulmonologist - she'll tell me where she wants to start.

All the doctors up at UConn are in my insurance plan, so I'm going to keep going there.  The care that Bob and I have gotten at Dempsey has been exemplery, and to my mind there's a certain attraction to having all of the medical records in one place where the new doctor can access them, rather than scattered across the state in an assortment of unrelated offices.  But that's just me.

I'm tired of this.  It's reached the point of being just a touch soul-crushing.  Completely aside from the fact that it *hurts* to cough this hard this much, and that it's physically exhausting, people actually *back away* when you sound like you've got TB or some other filthy disease.  Then there's the jokes "if you don't stop coughing soon, we'll have to have you put down."  It was funny the first dozen times.  Not so much any more.

Okay, I'm done whining.  Thanks for listening.

This is just awful--I'm sorry this is happening. Unfortunately, in the words of Jack Kerouac, I have nothing to offer except my own confusion. I hope it gets better.
