I wish it worked that way for me

Lately Charlotte has been eating like they're going to stop making food.  It started at the beginning of March when she made me late for the family haircut appointment because she needed not only seconds but thirds of dinner - this after eating all of a good lunch.  Around that time everyone was commenting about how slim she was (excluding the little pot belly - but all toddlers are supposed to have those.)

Last night in the bath when the hair was wet and slicked down, all of a sudden I noticed that she's turned back into a little chub-bucket again - her face is almost perfectly round, those cheeks are so chubby.

I shall brace myself for another growth spurt.   I have a feeling that pretty soon I won't need to roll those pants up nearly as far.

Did you know that, like plants, children grow faster in the spring than at any other time of year? :)

That extra shot of sunlight perhaps? :-)

My Char used to do that too. She'd also get really hungry for carbs, right as she was coming down with something. It'd get so I could tell that a request for mashed potatoes would be followed within 24 hours by a runny nose, cough and fever.

Holy smokes - thank you thank you thank you for that comment. Perhaps I'm not insane. V has been on a rice-rice-pasta-bread-rice kick this week, and this morning had a mess for the first time in months. (She was mortified, Dad was stoic. Poor them.) On the phone Rob blamed last night's burger king -- I said I'd suspected she was about to get sick with her carb-load and I heard silence on the phone in response.
But another mom has seen the same thing... two examples suggest a link. ;)

Sophia became the Bottomless Pit of Braintree a couple weekends ago. Her appetite seems to have slowed considerably since then, but it certainly was followed by a significant growth spurt.

Yep, we've been noticing that. She'll stretch out and get all long and lean, and then pause. Then after a bit she starts eating like a horse, and pudges up. Shortly after she stretches all the pudge out, and I put one less roll in the pants legs.

I guess you accumulate the mass first, then rearrange it.

What's the next size up you need? V's in size 5-7*, and I haven't gotten the fours further than the vehicle.

(*Yep that's the range. Normal legs, tall torso, and SKINNY. I now hate clothes that come in "sets"...and dread the sudden appearance of jumpsuits in the media for more reasons than ick.)

Next size up is 3T.
