All of my friends (with the exception of Mel) are outside working in, or at least cleaning up their gardens.

Mine are still under about 4" of snow.  Along with all of the back yard.  Not counting the Eloise-high piles at the bottom of the driveway.

No, it's melted off under most of the trees. It's the yard and gardens that are holding it.

The middle of the pretty azalea broke under snow load. Hopefully it will fill in. The nasty, scraggly rhododendron is fine, of course. I think I'm going to chop that down and yank it out this year.

If you chop the rhododendron down to 1 foot off the ground now, it may well fill in and become a pretty rhododendron within a couple of years. You won't get blooms this year, but you'd get growth.

Of course, if you don't like rhodies, yank it. ;)
