Did you know...

That when your employer will not provide any more spoons and forks for the kitchen (because they're moving us), and the spoon that you've been washing and saving has disappeared from your desk overnight, and you've forgotten to bring a fork with you to eat your left-over lo-mein...

that you can use two plastic knives as chopsticks in a pinch?  It's not pretty, but it works.

Who goes around "borrowing" (stealing) spoons from co-workers' desks?

Though it will be interesting to see if it miraculously reappears overnight....

Forks&spoons seem safe around here, but I've "lost" two staplers, a ruler, and a pair of scissors just by not being at my desk 24/7. Not that I'm counting or anything.

Of course, I'm also Engineering's prime pen thief so perhaps it all evens out in the end...

That would be desperate co-workers who are completely without eating utensils. There are NONE in the building.

I suspect the cleaning guy threw it away overnight. I think he sometimes throws away things off of my desk that he thinks are trash.

Dang. We're lucky if our cleaning guys move our office chairs when it's time for the sporadic vaccuum. They empty the trash can and that's it. Poor jamie didn't realize I'd been emptying her recycle bin along with mine until I went on vacation this summer and she purged a cabinet...

MUCH better than a pair of pencils! (Which I haven't done, but I got the image...)

The Dilbert answer is to talk loudly about how you wash your spoon before you use it instead of after... one person will blanch and you'll know the culprit. (That's how Alice found out Wally was the fridge-food thief.)

Pens also work well as large chopsticks....

Didn't even think of pens - probably would have worked better. The knives were just a bit too short to work well.
