Bullet Dodged

I am very, very happy that we didn't go to NYC yesterday.

Originally, vynehorn and I were going to make a trip to NYC - hit the Morgan Library to see the Jane Austin exhibit and the Hours of Catherine of Cleves, and then roam the garment district for a bit.  On Thursday, we decided to call it for weather, because the garment district in cold, driving rain is No Fun.

Saturday morning I slept in, because I was absolutely exhausted - I have been all week.  At about 10:00 am, about the time we would have been getting to the Morgan (or the Deerfield craft show if I had gone with plan B), I bolted for the bathroom and brought up everything I'd eaten for the past week, as far as I could tell.  Then I tried for my toenails.

Yes, I officially came down with the bug that knocked Bob down on Tuesday.  The second time *I've* had it, damn it.

Then chills, aches, sweats, more aches, and now that lovely limp dishrag feeling.  But...

I *could* have been throwing my guts up on MetroNorth.  Thank goodness for rain...

Sounds like you got this year's standard issue. Bleah.

Enough to make a tinfoil hat guy like me a mite suspicious ;-D

Yep - last Tuesday when Bob came down with it and I called to cancel my eye appointment the receptionist's reaction was "oh - you have it too." I guess it's this season's special. I was highly unamused to have a second go at it, but at least this time I knew exactly what I was in for and what not to do. Like try to stay hydrated. BIG mistake with this bug.

Sigh. I'd like to be done now. I'm just hoping that we're not going to start passing it back and forth. If so, I'm going to go stay somewhere else for a while.

Oh you poor folks!
Here's hoping Ch. doesn't get it next... but if she does, Victoria gave the kid sign of approval to Pedialyte apple flavor and also their freezer pops. (A previous round of the bug, so far she's avoided this one...knock on wood.)

Orange & grape Pedialyte she enjoyed for about a half pint, and then refused. She accepted apple for 2 days, and whined for it even after that. Partly that may be because I had gotten the third variety in a small-sized bottle so I wouldn't waste as much -- which means she got to clutch it in her paws.

I hope you're feeling better soon. Being barfy really sucks.

Yes it does. Like a Hoover. Luckily, noroviruses are really violent, but really fast. Yesterday at work at 10:30 I just *knew* I was done for the day, but decided to try to make it until noon. By then I had a second wind and made it for the rest of the day.

Of course, then I ruined the accomplishment by spending three hours on hold with AT&T trying to sort out the email conversion thing they're forcing on me. But I got a bunch of reading done!

Today I'm my usual curmudgeonly self. I'm just hoping that Bob and I aren't going to pass it back and forth. That's painfully easy to do with this sort of virus.

Ugh! I hope you're feeling better!

I too am glad that we didn't go down to NYC. Speaking of which, I have good dates from Jane for a re-do, so please send me yours so we can pick a new date.

Oh, that would have been grim. I figure that I would have either lost it on the train, which is a horror not to be thought of, or just as we got to the Morgan.

I've got some computer work to do tonight, but once that's done I'll sit down with the calendar and see what there is to see.
