Holy crossed eyes, Batman!

I've decided that there is nothing, but nothing, quite as deadly as sitting and watching other people read.  We have a situation where some outside people are in looking at redacted copies of our confidential documents.  One of the other legal assistants and I are taking shifts sitting in the room to make sure that nothing wanders off.  We weren't originally going to be the people doing this, so neither of us had prepared work that we could take in with us, and I got tapped for the first shift.

I now have enormous respect and sympathy for anyone who has ever proctored a test.

It's about like watching paint dry, isn't it? I always bring work to do while my students take tests.

I've watched paint dry. I think this is worse. Luckily, once we were able to get the schedule established I was able to mine through and take with me the huge stacks of filing that I've been needing to order, purge, and label for the file room. So I'm actually getting some things done that have been lingering for months. But that first two hours damn near killed me.

I've got 15 more minutes of glorious freedom before I go back in the oubliette.
