Reserved

Well, we're reserved for Pennsic.  Yes, this is perhaps not the brightest plan I've ever made.  But I really don't want to miss my 20th consecutive Pennsic.  Silly how a hobby becomes so important to you after enough years of living it.

So I've made hotel reservations for July 31 through August 3.  We'll do a long weekend from the hotel, and hopefully it won't be too problematic with the ability to go back to a real bed and air conditioning in the evenings.  We'll get to see some friends, maybe take a few classes, and do some shopping.  I'm hoping this is neither too much nor too little.  And if I'm not feeling well, or if my doctor screams bloody murder we can cancel the reservation and stay home.  And whine.

So I have reservations, and reservations.  So to speak.

My coworker find the idea of me driving to Pennsic across I-80 to the tune of eight plus hours, seven months pregnant absolutely hilarious.  I pointed out that after all those years of driving across Pennsylvania regularly I know all the rest areas very well already.  I'll just probably need to violate my rule about not stopping in NY.  No matter how skeezy those are, I don't think I'll have that much of a choice.

Been there done that, but without the hotel.

Drink lots of water and then drink more water.
Do you know what they call a dehydrated pregnant woman?
in labor. Mom if she is lucky, so drink extra water.

That was always the plan - drink until it's running out my ears. I think that you may have been the person who years ago originally told me that the most reliable way to induce labor is dehydration - and how dangerous it is.

I'm already sad about missing most of it (or possibly all of it,) but I need to hoard my vacation time to supplement my short term disability. Also, we can't afford to hotel it for the full time, and the potential issues of going "like normal" just aren't worth it. The last thing I need to do is screw up my back at that point because I'm being stupid!
