Seriously?

Christmas is coming, so all the perfume commercials are on the air.  Lots of them are all artsy - visuals over some piece of music.  I generally ignore them, but Estee Lauder's confuses me.  The piece of music they're using to advertise their perfume is "Lady Marmalade."

Ummm...

Maybe it's just me, (okay it's probably just me,) but it sounds to me like they're saying that their perfume makes you smell like a French whorehouse?

Is that really a selling point, or am I the only person who remembers the lyrics to "Lady Marmalade?"

LMAO, spot on!
I haven't seen the ad, but that's definitely what comes to my mind when I hear that song! The association wasn't as strong before the movie came out, but now hearing it makes me think of Nicole Kidman, Toulouse Lautrec, and Tuberculosis all in the context of a cheap brothel.

I must admit I haven't actually been to one but...I would imagine that a French whorehouse WOULD be heavily scented.
