I love snow

I promised snow pictures.  And since I DID just download the camera...

The back deck.  The railing doesn't usually look that short.

My back yard.  That lump in  the foreground is the wheel barrow that I never got around to putting away, which is now frozen to the ground.  Oops.

Umm,  the side of the property, looking towards the street and the well head.

Front steps.  This is a fairly sheltered spot on the north side of the house that doesn't drift, so the quantity on the steps is fairly illustrative of how much we've got on the ground.  We don't really use that door...

Pretty self evident - my house, covered in snow.  The snow blower is now repaired, so this is probably as good as it's going to get.

Pretty! You have SO MANY TREES. I envy your little forest.

You guys did get a lot of snow. More is coming...it's good that your snowblower is fixed.

All our snow is melting! Seriously...it's going to be 51 here on Sunday. We'll be lucky if we have anything left on the ground by X-mas.

Yes - when they said "wooded lot" they weren't kidding. That picture with the wheelbarrow shows almost the entire grass area - the rest of the acre is trees. It only worried me a little when I was going through the paperwork the previous owners left us and I found the documents for the roof repairs from when a tree fell on the house...

For us, this is a lot of snow - especially in one storm. But we haven't had a white Christmas in a while. I love it. I just can't keep from taking pictures of the snow - it's so pretty.

I live on a wooded lot, too :) You've got a big house, there...and it's nice to have old trees around. I feel kind of 'blah' without them.

From what I can tell, I live on a wooded lot - you live in the woods!

It's hard to tell from those photos, but up by the house there are a couple of big old oak trees. They're really probably too close to the house, but I adore them (except at gutter cleaning time.) They were part of what made me want this house when we looked at it.

For our area, that's actually a pretty small house - it's about 1700 sq ft if you count that finished attic space, which suits us very well. We might very well be the smallest house on the street, and we're not far down the road from the McMansions - which are not far down the road from the *mansions.* But it's got what we need, and I'm *very* happy with it. I love my trees - I look at the lots that have been clear cut so that they can have an acre of lawn and think "why?"
