I love new books...

My copy of "Archeological Footwear" arrived!  Very exciting!  (and I may have also gotten a copy of "English Government in the Thirteenth Century," "Fourteenth Century England II," and "Scotland and it's Neighbors in the Middle Ages" at a very deep discount...)

Me too!
One "drawback" to my current temp job at the main library is seeing all kinds of awesome books I want to buy, never mind borrow!

In front of me now is "Wild West Bartender's Bible" from 1986, complete with repros of all the old barware/ bar building supply catalogs! :-D

Re: Me too!
That sounds like a very cool book...

Sadly, Carllein misses merchanting. Not enough to do it again but enough to continue keeping up with all the new publications and send me emails about them.

Next time we get together, I want to let you use my FB to poke through the pictures posted by the London Mudlarks. Among other treasures this summer, they've had people find some sizeable shoe bits.
And enough Bellarmine jar bits that they're joking about how do you refer to all the faces together...

Book for you?
I came across this in the donations at work recently, and scooped it up thinking of you:
_The Alchemy of Paint: Art, Science and Secrets from the Middle Ages_ by Spike Bucklow, c. 2009.

It's a UK paperback in great condition. If you can use it, I'll hang on to it and we'll have to figure a way to get it into your hands.

Re: Book for you?
That sounds fabulous. The fact that it could serve as good motivation to get together is nice too. Hmmm... I think maybe we need to get together for dinner.
