Small Steps

First nap in the twin bed.  She was very excited - too excited to actually lay down and go to sleep.  So Bob put her down in the crib and moved her over after she fell asleep.  She was VERY confused when she woke up.  There's no rush, so we'll keep working on it until she gets the idea that the bed is for going to sleep.  Once she's got that, we can break down the crib and get a significant amount of floor space back.  I haven't mentioned to my parents yet that I'm going to stash it in their attic until we can arrange to get it back to my brother.

So - moving into a real bed.  In progress.  Next step: housebreaking.

Nice! (Of course, I'm usually very confused when I wake up someplace other than where I went to sleep too.) Housebreaking should be fun....

Does that happen often? :-)

I'm really not looking forward to housebreaking - but it's kind of non-negotiable. Mom suggested that we start sometime when I'm home for a 3 day weekend and can concentrate. Hopefully she'll figure it out quickly - she's a smart girl.

Doesn't happen nearly as often as it once did :)

I don't know if it's as much an issue of her being smart or not, but an awareness of what's going on before something happens. That's the difficulty my friends faced with their two kids - they decided to use pull-ups as a kind of intermediate step, but the pull-ups were too absorbent and their son especially took a long time to figure out that he was damp.

I'm always in a certain awe at the bizarre, boneless positions children can sleep in.
